African Literatures Book Club

The African Literatures Book Club is a club that allows students to explore different books and themes carefully selected for them. Thought-provoking sessions will be conducted in which books are discussed together with a member from the Africa Center. It will take on the traditional form of a book club where a selected book is read before the meeting and then discussed in the group session(s).

African Narratives Cultural Club

This will be a club for students where different topics can be discussed together with experts from the African Center of Hong Kong. Short texts from books/short stories/ other forms of narratives will be used as conversation starters. Following this students will have to consider different topics that are related to the read text they will have read together at the beginning of the session. After this there will be open discussions on the topic of the day. Although this club still uses African narratives as a starting point it differs from the book club as it does not require any preparation prior to the meeting.

Time periods and frequency of meetings vary according to the needs of the school.
