The Book Series: Women’s Narratives and African Feminisms

July 21 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm UTC+8

In this event we look at books by African women who endorse African feminisms in their work. We will read from The First Woman by Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi; Teaching My Mother How To Give Birth by Warsan Shire and Mind What You Tell Your Daughter by Aincre Maame-Fousua Evans.

We will have the honour to hear Aincre Maame-Fosua Evans reading her own poems live (virtually) followed by a discussion with the author on how African feminisms have influenced her work.

Following the literary input from the authors the event will allow room for discussion amongst the audience to help grasp African Feminisms more concretely.

Join us for an interesting and informative event where you too will be able to share experiences and learn from others!
