One of our favorite days of the year is coming up – Africa Day! This is the day that celebrates the founding of the Organization of African Unity, now known as the African Union. To commemorate this day we invite you to join us on 27th May 2023 (Sat) for this fun-filled day. We will be celebrating African cultures with a special focus on the theme for 2023 “InterWEave”.
“InterWEave” – just like the Ghanaian textile kente cloth, we would like to make this Africa Day an event where different people come together and interwoven on one platform to form a beautiful pattern.
This is an amazing day to learn about and taste delicious foods from across the African continent, experience the beauty of African arts, as well as to have fun dancing with with different African rhythms! This exploration of culture will be coupled with programs for all ages, including and Cultural Exchange Booths for kids & adults, Tonga Basket Weaving Workshop, and Pan-African lunch & dinner.
Come and join us for this celebration of food, arts and music!

I value the “African Literature Book Club” as I value Women’s Day and Black History Month because African literature deserves a spotlight.
