In this hands-on workshop, the kids will learn about different types of African fabrics as well as their importance to the cultures/groups that created them. It also highlights the significance of patchwork/ quilting, particularly how it helped black women to gain a sense of accomplishment and identity in 19th century America. The kids will get a glimpse of such quilting techniques and will design their own piece during the workshop.
