African Kidz Club
A resource sharing and support community primarily for kids of African descent. Kids of all ethnicities who are 13 years old and below are welcome for a day of fun and learning.
Overview
At the Africa Center Hong Kong, we believe that strong community support systems are vital for supporting children (especially of African descent) to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. By organizing a variety of children’s initiatives, we hope to provide a foundation for them to grow up feeling valued, represented and equipped to succeed.
Principles
Cultural Preservation & Identity Development
We help children to connect with their cultural heritage, traditions and history which can foster a strong sense of cultural identity and pride, which is important for healthy child development.
Positive Role Models & Mentorship
We can connect children with positive adult role models and mentors who share their background and experiences. This can inspire children and provide guidance.
Fostering Resilience & Empowerment
With our community support, children can develop resilience in the face of adversity and a sense of collective empowerment to overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential.
