Cool Africa is a newly launched art initiative by Africa Center Hong Kong. It is a creative and cultural hub designed to reframe perceptions of Africa by highlighting aspects of African culture that non-Africans might find “cool,” engaging, and inspiring.
The goal is to boost global interest in African culture through pop culture, fashion, food, and design.
Open Programs
Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or simply curious, this hands-on workshop invites you to create one beautiful, African art–inspired craft while indulging in an array of delicious African snacks! Families, solo adventurers, and groups welcome. No prior art experience needed—just bring your curiosity and an empty stomach.

Cool Africa Kiddies Art Jamming is a child-led art session aiming to nurture kids’ creativity, confidence and communication through African arts.
Target age: 2.5 – 5 years old

A fun and engaging art class where kids learn the basics of drawing, painting, and crafting—while exploring the vibrant colors and patterns of African culture. Guided by friendly instructors, children build creative skills and confidence in a playful, culturally rich environment.
Target age: 5 – 13 years old
Cool Africa Tots Art Playgroup is a joyful, accompanied session where toddlers explore the world of African art through sensory play, colors, and textures. With a focus on fun and discovery, each activity introduces elements of African creativity—like bold patterns, natural materials, and rhythmic shapes—perfectly tailored for tiny hands and curious minds.
